Small Target Detection Based on Noncoherent Radial Velocity Spectrum of High-Resolution Sea Clutter

This paper proposes a multiscan joint non-coherent detection method of small targets in high-resolution sea clutter with spatial-temporally structural textures induced by large-scale swells and waves, which is composed intrascan integration at each spatial resolution cell followed interscan on radial velocity template. The main contributions the are as follows. Firstly, concept spectrum (NCRVS) proposed to model non-homogeneity textures. In NCRVS, passing retrospective filter (RF) bank fully combined. Secondly, NCRVS has different statistics individual bins lognormal distributions used fit their an outlier-robust analytical bi-percentile estimator constructed for parameter estimation. Thirdly, based lognormal-distributed model, double-channel detector (DC-MJD) proposed, where channel find floating or low whitening plus target high velocity. Simulated data measured X-band radar verify DC-MJD detector. comparison existing three detectors, improves probability 96% test target.
